  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to claims against the state; providing for 
  1.3             reimbursement by the department of public safety of 
  1.4             certain costs of health insurance benefits paid by the 
  1.5             city of Caledonia to a public safety officer. 
  1.6   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.7      Section 1.  [REIMBURSEMENT OF CITY OF CALEDONIA.] 
  1.8      Pursuant to Minnesota Statutes, section 299A.465, 
  1.9   subdivision 4, the commissioner of public safety must pay 
  1.10  $25,315.75 from funds appropriated to the department of public 
  1.11  safety for any purpose to the city of Caledonia for 
  1.12  reimbursement of costs of providing health insurance coverage to 
  1.13  disabled police officer Mark J. Coffield for the period November 
  1.14  9, 1999, to June 30, 2002. 
  1.15     Sec. 2.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
  1.16     Section 1 is effective the day following final enactment.
