  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to education; providing for declining pupil 
  1.3             unit aid for independent school district Nos. 2854, 
  1.4             Ada-Borup; 2176, Warren-Alvarado-Oslo; 846, 
  1.5             Breckenridge; and 595, East Grand Forks. 
  1.6   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.7      Section 1.  [FISCAL YEARS 2000 to 2003 DECLINING PUPIL UNIT 
  1.8   AID; ADA-BORUP; WARREN-ALVARADO-OSLO; BRECKENRIDGE; EAST GRAND 
  1.9   FORKS.] 
  1.10     Subdivision 1.  [FISCAL YEAR 2000.] For fiscal year 2000 
  1.11  only, independent school district Nos. 2854, Ada-Borup; 846, 
  1.12  Breckenridge; 595, East Grand Forks; and 2176, 
  1.13  Warren-Alvarado-Oslo, are eligible for declining pupil unit aid 
  1.14  equal to the product of the general education formula allowance 
  1.15  for fiscal year 2000 times 80 percent of the difference between 
  1.16  the districts' actual pupil units for the 1996-1997 school year 
  1.17  and the districts' actual pupil units for the 1999-2000 school 
  1.18  year. 
  1.19     Subd. 2.  [FISCAL YEAR 2001.] For fiscal year 2001 only, 
  1.20  independent school district Nos. 2854, Ada-Borup; 846, 
  1.21  Breckenridge; 595, East Grand Forks; and 2176, 
  1.22  Warren-Alvarado-Oslo, are eligible for declining pupil unit aid 
  1.23  equal to the product of the general education formula allowance 
  1.24  for fiscal year 2001 times 60 percent of the difference between 
  1.25  the districts' actual pupil units for the 1996-1997 school year 
  2.1   and the districts' actual pupil units for the 2000-2001 school 
  2.2   year. 
  2.3      Subd. 3.  [FISCAL YEAR 2002.] For fiscal year 2002 only, 
  2.4   independent school district Nos. 2854, Ada-Borup; 846, 
  2.5   Breckenridge; 595, East Grand Forks; and 2176, 
  2.6   Warren-Alvarado-Oslo, are eligible for declining pupil unit aid 
  2.7   equal to the product of the general education formula allowance 
  2.8   for fiscal year 2002 times 40 percent of the difference between 
  2.9   the districts' actual pupil units for the 1996-1997 school year 
  2.10  and the districts' actual pupil units for the 2001-2002 school 
  2.11  year. 
  2.12     Subd. 4.  [FISCAL YEAR 2003.] For fiscal year 2003 only, 
  2.13  independent school district Nos. 2854, Ada-Borup; 846, 
  2.14  Breckenridge; 595, East Grand Forks; and 2176, 
  2.15  Warren-Alvarado-Oslo, are eligible for declining pupil unit aid 
  2.16  equal to the product of the general education formula allowance 
  2.17  for fiscal year 2003 times 20 percent of the difference between 
  2.18  the districts' actual pupil units for the 1996-1997 school year 
  2.19  and the districts' actual pupil units for the 2002-2003 school 
  2.20  year.
