  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to retirement; allowing the North St. Paul 
  1.3             city manager to retain membership in the public 
  1.4             employees police and fire fund. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  [CITY MANAGER RETIREMENT COVERAGE.] 
  1.7      Notwithstanding the prohibition contained in Minnesota 
  1.8   Statutes, section 353.64, subdivision 5a, the North St. Paul 
  1.9   city manager shall retain membership in the public employees 
  1.10  police and fire fund.  Employee and employer contributions to 
  1.11  the public employees retirement association since July 18, 1994, 
  1.12  shall be adjusted and transferred to the police and fire fund 
  1.13  along with service credit for that period upon the effective 
  1.14  date of this section. 
  1.15     Sec. 2.  [LOCAL APPROVAL.] 
  1.16     Section 1 is effective on approval by the North St. Paul 
  1.17  City Council and compliance with Minnesota Statutes, section 
  1.18  645.021.
