  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to appropriations; prohibiting use of state 
  1.3             appropriations for art in state correctional 
  1.4             facilities; amending Minnesota Statutes 1998, section 
  1.5             16B.35, by adding a subdivision. 
  1.6   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.7      Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 1998, section 16B.35, is 
  1.8   amended by adding a subdivision to read: 
  1.9      Subd. 1a.  [NOT IN PRISONS.] Notwithstanding subdivision 1, 
  1.10  no part of this state appropriation may be used to acquire or 
  1.11  install works of art in or on the grounds of a state 
  1.12  correctional facility.
