new text end

new text begin The commissioner of human services shall request a federal waiver to allow the state to
continue the public health programs it had in place before the adoption of the Patient
Protection and Affordable Care Act, Public Law 111-148. In particular, the waiver shall
specify continuing the medical assistance and MinnesotaCare programs as they were in
effect prior to the passage of Public Law 111-148. This will allow patients the opportunity
to continue to see their own physicians and offer the state the flexibility to address health
care issues unique to Minnesota.
