A bill for an act
 relating to public safety; appropriating money for reimbursement of costs of autism
training for peace officers.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin PEACE OFFICERS; AUTISM TRAINING; APPROPRIATION.

new text begin $1,600,000 in fiscal year 2023 is appropriated from the general fund to the Peace Officer
Standards and Training Board for reimbursement to local governments for the costs of
autism training for peace officers under Minnesota Statutes, section 626.8474. This
appropriation is in addition to any other appropriations for reimbursement to local
governments for the cost of autism training for peace officers. Any unexpended funds cancel
back to the general fund.
