A bill for an act
relating to apprenticeships; appropriating money for a grant to Helmets to Hardhats.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

new text begin $200,000 in fiscal year 2018 and $200,000 in fiscal year 2019 are appropriated from the
general fund to the commissioner of labor and industry for the purpose of funding a grant
to Helmets to Hardhats. Grant funds must be used to recruit military veterans and assist
them in transitioning into apprenticeship programs regulated by the Department of Labor
and Industry. Grant funds must be used to accomplish this purpose without regard to race,
color, creed, religion, national origin, marital status, disability, public assistance, sexual
orientation, or familial status.
