  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to employment; modifying the definition of 
  1.3             "prevailing hours of labor" for prevailing wage 
  1.4             purposes; amending Minnesota Statutes 2002, section 
  1.5             177.42, subdivision 4. 
  1.6   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.7      Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 2002, section 177.42, 
  1.8   subdivision 4, is amended to read: 
  1.9      Subd. 4.  [PREVAILING HOURS OF LABOR.] "Prevailing hours of 
  1.10  labor" means the hours of labor per day and per week worked 
  1.11  within the area by a larger number of workers of the same class 
  1.12  than are employed within the area for any other number of hours 
  1.13  per day and per week.  The prevailing hours of labor may not be 
  1.14  more than eight ten hours per day or more than 40 hours per week.
