  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to public safety; appropriating money for 
  1.3             antiterrorism. 
  1.4   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.5      Section 1.  [APPROPRIATIONS; PUBLIC SAFETY.] 
  1.6      $....... is a one-time appropriation from the general fund 
  1.7   to the commissioner of public safety for grants to local law 
  1.8   enforcement agencies for overtime, training, and equipment 
  1.9   related to antiterrorism initiatives and investigations. 
  1.10     $....... is a one-time appropriation from the general fund 
  1.11  to the commissioner of public safety to be used either (1) to 
  1.12  secure federal antiterrorism matching grants for Minnesota or 
  1.13  (2) to be distributed to local law enforcement agencies so that 
  1.14  they may secure federal antiterrorism matching grants.  
  1.15     Sec. 2.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
  1.16     Section 1 is effective the day following final enactment.
