  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to education; authorizing a technology 
  1.3             integration grant to independent school district No. 
  1.4             392, Le Center; appropriating money. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  [TECHNOLOGY GRANT; LE CENTER.] 
  1.7      (a) $400,000 is appropriated in fiscal year 2000 from the 
  1.8   general fund to the commissioner of children, families, and 
  1.9   learning for a technology integration grant to independent 
  1.10  school district No. 392, Le Center.  
  1.11     (b) The grant may be used for facilities review, land 
  1.12  acquisition costs, or for technology purposes designed to 
  1.13  demonstrate successful and effective uses of technology for 
  1.14  students and teachers to improve student achievement. 
  1.15     (c) This appropriation is available until June 30, 2001. 
  1.16     Sec. 2.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
  1.17     Section 1 is effective July 1, 1999.
