relating to health; requiring continuing medical education credits; proposing
coding for new law in Minnesota Statutes, chapter 147.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

new text begin As a condition of relicensure, any licensee with prescribing authority to prescribe
opiates as defined under section 152.01, subdivision 11, must have at least five hours of
continuing medical education credits of the required total credits for each continuing
education cycle of educational courses in the following topics: the basics of addiction;
opiate prescribing; and alternative approaches to pain management.
