                            CHAPTER 69-S.F.No. 1282 
                  An act relating to veterans; providing for placement 
                  in the capitol area of a statue commemorating Hmong 
                  veterans of the campaign in Laos during the Vietnam 
                  War. 
        BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
           Section 1.  [STATUE COMMEMORATING HMONG VETERANS.] 
           Subject to approval by the capitol area architectural and 
        planning board, a statue may be placed in the court of honor or 
        at some other place in the capitol area to honor the Hmong 
        veterans of the war in Laos who were allied with American forces 
        during the Vietnam War.  The commissioner of veterans affairs 
        shall ensure placement of an appropriate statue as authorized by 
        this section and shall accept contributions from nonstate 
        sources of amounts necessary to pay for the statue and its 
        placement.
