                         CHAPTER 64-H.F.No. 70 
           An act relating to state lands; authorizing a 
          conveyance to the city of St. Cloud of certain land 
          owned by the state as a part of St. Cloud State 
          University. 
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
    Section 1.  [CONVEYANCE OF LAND BY THE STATE OF MINNESOTA 
TO THE CITY OF ST. CLOUD.] 
    Subdivision 1.  [AUTHORIZATION.] Notwithstanding Minnesota 
Statutes, sections 92.45 and 94.09 to 94.13, to settle title 
questions and to promote the recreational development of lands 
adjacent to St. Cloud State University and the Mississippi 
river, the commissioner of administration may convey to the city 
of St. Cloud the real property described in subdivision 3.  
    Subd. 2.  [FORM OF DEED.] The conveyance must be by 
quitclaim deed, without monetary consideration, in the form 
approved by the attorney general.  The conveyance must provide 
that the land reverts to the state if it is not used for park 
purposes.  
     Subd. 3.  [UNIVERSITY PROPERTY.] The state may convey the 
following described property. 
     The part of the following described parcels, situated in 
the State of Minnesota and County of Stearns, to-wit:  Lots 4, 
5, 11, and 12, Block 18 BROTT AND SMITH'S ADDITION TO ST. CLOUD 
CITY, a duly recorded plat.  Lots 5 and 6, Block 13, ST. CLOUD 
CITY, T.A. CURTIS SURVEY, a duly recorded plat.  Lots 1, 2, 3, 
4, 5, 7, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15 and 16, ST. CLOUD WATER POWER 
AND MILL COMPANY'S MILL SITES, a duly recorded plat.  Government 
Lots 3 and 4, Section 13, Township 124, Range 28.  All streets, 
avenues, alleys, private grounds, canals and tail races, whether 
vacated or not, lying within said plats.  WHICH LIES WITHIN the 
following described tract: 
 Beginning at the intersection of the centerline of 
Fourteenth Street South with the line of vacated First 
Avenue South; thence North along said east line of First 
Street to its intersection with the easterly extension of 
the north line Block 20, BROTT AND SMITH'S ADDITION:  
thence West along said extended north line of Block 20 for 
25.00 feet; thence northerly on a line parallel with and 25 
feet westerly of the east line of said First Avenue to its 
intersection with the easterly extension of the north lines 
of Lot 6 and 13, Block 18, BROTT AND SMITH'S ADDITION; 
thence West along said extended north lines of Lots 6 and 
13 to the east line of Third Street South as shown and 
dedicated on UNIVERSITY ADDITION, a duly recorded plat; 
thence northerly along said east line of Third Street to 
its intersection with a line drawn parallel with and 66.00 
feet North of, as measured at right angles to, said 
extended north lines of Lots 6 and 13; thence East along 
said parallel line for 186.32 feet; thence deflect left 
along a tangential curve, having a central angle of 
90'00'00" and a radius of 185.00 feet, for 290.60 feet; 
thence North on tangent to said curve for 150.00 feet; 
thence northeasterly to the northeast corner of Lot 5, 
Block 13, ST. CLOUD CITY, T.A. CURTIS SURVEY; thence 
northeasterly to the northeast corner of said Block 13, 
thence East along the easterly extension of the north line 
of said Block 13 to the west shoreline of the Mississippi 
River; thence southerly along said shoreline to the 
easterly extension of the centerline of Fourteenth Street 
South; thence West to the point of beginning.  
 AND 
 That part of Government Lot 1, Section 24, Township 124, 
Range 28, Stearns County, Minnesota lying South of the 
North 476.00 feet thereof and southeasterly of the 
following described line: 
 Commencing at the meander corner on the north line of said 
Section 24 distant 2072.40 feet East of the northwest 
corner of said Section 24; thence West (assumed bearing of 
Due West) for 54.27 feet; then Due South for 476.00 feet to 
the point of beginning of the line to be described; thence 
South 30'41'57" West for 368.85 feet; thence South 46'20'54"
West for 203.81 feet; thence South 60'59'34" West for 
260.42 feet to the southeasterly right of way line of an 
abandoned railroad spur formerly owned by Burlington 
Northern Railroad Company; thence South 42'42'23" West 
along said southeasterly right of way line to the south 
line of said Government Lot 1 and there terminating. 
     Sec. 2.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
     Section 1 is effective the day following final enactment.
