           An act relating to claims against the state; providing 
          for payment of various claims; appropriating money. 
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
    Section 1.  [DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS.] 
    The sums set forth in this section are appropriated from 
the general fund to the commissioner of corrections for payment 
to the persons named in this section in full and final payment 
of claims against the state.  These appropriations are available 
until June 30, 1993. 
    To reimburse New Ulm Clinic ($1,108.80) and Sioux Valley 
Hospital ($1,631.67) for medical services provided to Sue Ann 
Brandt to diagnose and repair a hernia condition sustained while 
performing sentencing to service work.....$2,740.47. 
    To reimburse Minnesota department of human services for 
services provided to Dennis Busse sustained while performing 
sentencing to service work.....$7,955.95. 
    Jamie R. Eckart, c/o Robert C. Falsani, Attorney, 1200 
Alworth Building, 306 W. Superior Street, Duluth, MN 55802, for 
injury to left thumb while a resident at Thistledew 
Camp.....$2,250.00. 
    To reimburse St. Mary's Hospital, Duluth, MN ($235.00), St. 
Mary's Medical Center, Duluth, MN ($249.00), Northern MRI, 
Duluth, MN ($824.99), Polinsky Medical Rehabilitation Center, 
Duluth, MN ($386.00), and The Duluth Clinic Ltd. ($1,215.25) for 
medical services provided to Jamie R. Eckart.....$2,910.24. 
    To reimburse Watonwan Community Hospital ($963.86), New Ulm

provided to John Johnson for injuries sustained while performing

    To reimburse Virginia Regional Medical Center ($491.00), 
East Range Clinics, Ltd. ($102.15), and North Star Drugs, Ltd. 
($46.87) for medical services provided to Thomas Jorgenson, Jr., 
for injuries sustained while performing sentencing to service

    William Mozely, Minnesota correctional facility - Oak Park 
Heights, for injury to right knee sustained while an inmate at 
Stillwater.....$1,500.00. 
     To reimburse Rush City Hospital ($319.63), Pine City Area 
Clinic ($50.00), Lake Regional Radiology ($15.00), Professional 
Medical Associates, Ltd. ($193.00), Midwest MRI ($670.00), and 
St. Anthony Orthopedic Clinic P.A. ($111.00) for medical 
services provided to Chad Sandberg for injuries sustained while 
performing community service work in lieu of jail

Clinic ($184.00) for medical services provided to Terril Wallace 
for injuries sustained while performing sentencing to service

    To reimburse Western Orthopedic Surgery, St. Louis Park, 
for independent medical examinations performed on Norman 
Westberry, Mario Watson, and Jon Soleta for injuries sustained 
while they were inmates or performing sentencing to service 
work.....$3,010.00. 
    To reimburse various parties for amounts under $500.00 for 
medical services provided to various persons injured while 
performing sentencing to service work.....$2,437.48. 
    Sec. 2.  [DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE.] 
    The department of agriculture is directed to pay $1,800.00 
to James Bergvig, R.R. #1, Box 124, Rush City, Minnesota 55069 
for the use of his truck during the 1988-1989 haylift program. 
    Sec. 3.  [DEPARTMENT OF VETERANS AFFAIRS.] 
    Subdivision 1.  The sums set forth in this section are 
appropriated from the general fund to the commissioner of 
veterans affairs for payment to the persons named in full and 
final payment of claims against the state for adjusted 
compensation arising from World War II, the Korean conflict, and 
Vietnam service.  The appropriations are available until June 
30, 1993.
