A bill for an act
relating to capital investment; appropriating money for capital improvements for
Lutheran Social Service in the city of St. Paul.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

new text begin $2,500,000 in fiscal year 2025 is appropriated from the general fund to the commissioner
of employment and economic development for a grant to Lutheran Social Service of
Minnesota to design, construct, renovate, and equip capital improvements to an existing
service site at 709 University Avenue West in the city of St. Paul. This appropriation includes
money for accessibility and modernization capital improvements, preservation and expansion
of site-based transitional housing units for youth and parenting youth experiencing housing
instability, expansion of a therapeutic preschool, and improvements to office space for
employment services, financial counseling, housing services, and behavioral health services.
This is a onetime appropriation and is available until the project is completed or abandoned,
subject to Minnesota Statutes, section 16A.642.
