relating to public safety; appropriating money for grants to community-based
organizations to diminish hate crimes.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin COMMUNITY RESILIENCE GRANT; APPROPRIATION.

new text begin $1,000,000 in fiscal year 2025 is appropriated from the general fund to the commissioner
of public safety to make grants to community-based organizations to promote intergroup
harmony, deepen community resilience across lines of difference, and develop local strategies
for education, outreach, prevention, preparedness, and improved responses to diminish hate
crimes. The base for this appropriation is $1,000,000 in fiscal year 2026 and thereafter.
