relating to economic development; appropriating money for a grant to The Great
Northern.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin THE GREAT NORTHERN; APPROPRIATION.

new text begin $500,000 in fiscal year 2025 is appropriated from the workforce development fund to
the commissioner of employment and economic development for a grant to The Great
Northern to establish a paid internship program for enrolled college students and recent
graduates to gain professional development skills, learn how to assess organizational
operations and program execution for climate impact, and make recommendations of
sustainable solutions and partnerships. This is a onetime appropriation.
