A bill for an act
relating to the military; modifying the crime of unauthorized presence at Camp
Ripley to include any campground, military reservation, armory, installation, or
facility owned or controlled by the state or federal government for military
purposes; providing criminal penalties; amending Minnesota Statutes 2022, section
609.396.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

Minnesota Statutes 2022, section 609.396, is amended to read:


609.396 UNAUTHORIZED PRESENCE deleted text begin AT CAMP RIPLEYdeleted text end new text begin ON MILITARY
INSTALLATIONS

Subdivision 1.

Misdemeanor.

A person is guilty of a misdemeanor if the person
intentionally and without new text begin the new text end authorization of the adjutant general new text begin or a duly appointed
commander in accordance with federal regulations
new text end enters or is present on deleted text begin the Camp Ripley
Military Reservation

Subd. 2.

Felony.

A person is guilty of a felony and may be sentenced to not more than
five years imprisonment or to payment of a fine of not more than $10,000, or both, ifdeleted text begin :
