A bill for an act
 relating to transportation; appropriating money for reconstruction of the interchange
at Interstate 35 and County State-Aid Highway 50 in Dakota County; authorizing
the sale and issuance of state bonds.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

new text begin Appropriation. new text end

new text begin $58,199,000 is appropriated from the bond proceeds
fund to the commissioner of transportation for a grant to Dakota County, the city of Lakeville,
or both, to reconstruct the interchange at Interstate 35 and Dakota County State-Aid Highway
50 in Lakeville and to address corridor mobility and safety improvement needs along marked
Interstate 35 from approximately the County State-Aid Highway 50 interchange in Lakeville
to County State-Aid Highway 42 in Burnsville. This appropriation may be used for
preliminary and final design, to engineer, acquire right-of-way and temporary and permanent
easements, inspect, construct, and reconstruct Interstate 35 and other roads to support the
completion of the project, including multipurpose pedestrian and bicycle facilities, grade
separated railroad crossings, public utility relocation and stormwater management. This
appropriation will be used in coordination with the pavement replacement project included
in the Minnesota Department of Transportation 10-Year Capital Highway Improvement
Program.

new text begin To provide the money appropriated in this section from the bond
proceeds fund, the commissioner of management and budget shall sell and issue bonds of
the state in an amount up to $58,199,000 in the manner, upon the terms, and with the effect
prescribed by Minnesota Statutes, sections 16A.631 to 16A.675, and by the Minnesota
Constitution, article XI, sections 4 to 7.
