A bill for an act
 relating to agriculture; appropriating money for dairy pilot projects.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin APPROPRIATION; DAIRY PILOT PROJECTS.

new text begin $55,000 in fiscal year 2023 is appropriated from the general fund to the commissioner
of agriculture to fund grants for two one-year dairy pilot projects. The dairy pilot projects
must be designed to test dairy production and resulting health benefits to a herd of livestock
and measure the quantifiable benefits of dairy farming to the environment. Of this total
appropriation, $2,500 per grant must be used to support dairy infrastructure, perform data
analysis, and pay operational costs and reporting costs.
