A bill for an act
relating to capital investment; appropriating money for capital improvements at
the Sabathani Community Center in the city of Minneapolis.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin APPROPRIATION; SABATHANI COMMUNITY CENTER.

new text begin $10,000,000 in fiscal year 2024 is appropriated from the general fund to the commissioner
of employment and economic development for a grant to Sabathani Community Center, a
501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, to design, construct, and equip improvements and
betterments of a capital nature at 310 East 38th Street in the city of Minneapolis. This
appropriation includes money for a central geothermal heating and cooling system for the
main Sabathani campus with capacity for future expansion. This appropriation is onetime
and is available until the project is completed or abandoned, subject to Minnesota Statutes,
section 16A.642.
