A bill for an act
relating to public health; adding an exception to the prohibition on concealing
identity; amending Minnesota Statutes 2022, section 609.735.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

Minnesota Statutes 2022, section 609.735, is amended to read:


609.735 CONCEALING IDENTITY.

A person whose identity is concealed by the person in a public place by means of a robe,
mask, or other disguisedeleted text begin , unless based on religious beliefs, or incidental to amusement,
entertainment, protection from weather, or medical treatment,
deleted text end is guilty of a misdemeanornew text begin
unless the use of the robe, mask, or other disguise is based on religious beliefs, or is incidental
to amusement or entertainment, or its main purpose is for protection from the weather,
prevention of the spread of an infectious disease, or medical treatment
