BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin APPROPRIATION; REGIONAL AND LOCAL FOOD SYSTEMS
REPORT.

new text begin $10,000 in fiscal year 2023 is appropriated from the general fund to the commissioner
of agriculture to study and report on the state of regional and local food systems in Minnesota,
including recommendations for strengthening these systems. No later than February 1, 2023,
the commissioner must submit the report to the legislative committees with jurisdiction
over agriculture policy and finance.
