relating to transportation; appropriating money for implementation of quiet zones
in New Brighton.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin NEW BRIGHTON QUIET ZONES; APPROPRIATION.

new text begin $3,848,000 is appropriated from the general fund to the commissioner of transportation
for a grant to the city of New Brighton to predesign, design, engineer, construct, and equip
new passive and active rail grade crossing warning safety devices necessary to establish
seven quiet zone areas at 11 grade crossings of railroad tracks and city streets. This
appropriation does not require a nonstate contribution.
