 relating to energy; appropriating money for a geothermal energy demonstration
project.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

APPROPRIATION.

new text begin Notwithstanding Minnesota Statutes, section 116C.779, subdivision 1, paragraph (j),
$....... in fiscal year 2023 is appropriated from the renewable development account under
Minnesota Statutes, section 116C.779, subdivision 1, to the commissioner of commerce for
a grant to the Anoka-Hennepin Public School District to construct a geothermal energy
system at the Sorteberg Early Childhood Center that uses the constant temperature of the
earth, in conjunction with a heat pump, new HVAC system, and new boilers, to provide
space heating and cooling to the building.
