A bill for an act
relating to energy; requiring electric utilities to include information on renewable
energy programs with bill inserts; proposing coding for new law in Minnesota
Statutes, chapter 216B.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

new text begin At least twice annually, a utility providing retail electric service to customers in Minnesota
must enclose with each customer's monthly electricity bill information regarding programs
and financial incentives offered by the utility that are designed to encourage use of energy
generated by renewable energy sources. The utility must send a copy of the information to
the commission.

final enactment. A utility providing retail electric service must begin providing the bill
inserts required under this section no later than September 1, 2020.
