A bill for an act
relating to arts and culture; appropriating money to commemorate first woman to
vote in United States election.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
Section 1. new text begin APPROPRIATION; COMMEMORATING FIRST WOMAN TO VOTE
IN UNITED STATES ELECTION.

$300,000 in fiscal year 2020 is appropriated from the arts and cultural heritage fund to
the governing board of the Minnesota Historical Society for a grant to the city of South St.
Paul to construct a monument commemorating the first woman to vote in an election after
ratification of the 19th amendment to the United States Constitution and to plan and
implement related celebrations.
