A bill for an act
relating to agriculture; reducing noncommercial pesticide applicator license fee
for certain persons; amending Minnesota Statutes 2016, section 18B.34, subdivision
5.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
Minnesota Statutes 2016, section 18B.34, subdivision 5, is amended to read:
(a) A person initially applying for or renewing a noncommercial applicator
license must pay a nonrefundable application fee of $50, except an applicant who deleted text begin isdeleted text end new text begin uses
pesticides in the course of performing official duties as: (1)new text end a governmentnew text begin employee; (2) a
contractor providing rest area custodial services for the commissioner of transportation;new text end or
new text begin (3) a new text end Conservation Corps Minnesota employee deleted text begin who uses pesticides in the course of
performing official dutiesdeleted text end must pay a nonrefundable application fee of $10.
(b) A license renewal application received after March 1 in the year for which the license
is to be issued is subject to a penalty fee of 50 percent of the application fee. The penalty
fee must be paid before the renewal license may be issued.
(c) An application for a duplicate noncommercial applicator license must be accompanied
by a nonrefundable application fee of $10.
