A bill for an act
relating to game and fish; modifying big game registration requirements; requiring
rulemaking; amending Minnesota Statutes 2014, section 97A.535, subdivision 2.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

Minnesota Statutes 2014, section 97A.535, subdivision 2, is amended to read:


Subd. 2.

Registration required.

Deer, bear, elk, and moose must be registered as
prescribed by the commissioner, in addition to the tag required in subdivision 1.new text begin The
commissioner must allow registration to occur up to 48 hours after the close of the season
in which the respective game was taken.

new text begin The commissioner of natural resources shall amend Minnesota Rules, parts
6232.0400, subpart 2; 6232.2800, subpart 6; and 6232.3700, subpart 4, to comply with the
changes made in Minnesota Statutes, section 97A.535, subdivision 2. The commissioner
may use the good cause exemption under Minnesota Statutes, section 14.388, subdivision
1, clause (3), to adopt rules under this section, and Minnesota Statutes, section 14.386,
does not apply except as provided under Minnesota Statutes, section 14.388.
