A bill for an act
relating to vocational rehabilitation; appropriating money for seniors who are
becoming blind.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin APPROPRIATION.

new text begin $1,000,000 in fiscal year 2016 and $1,000,000 in fiscal year 2017 are appropriated to
the commissioner of employment and economic development for State Services for the
Blind. Funds appropriated must be used to provide services for senior citizens who are
becoming blind. At least half of the funds appropriated must be used to provide training
services for seniors who are becoming blind and must be administered at an Adjustment
to Blindness Center in the state. Training services must provide independent living
skills to seniors who are becoming blind to allow them to continue to live independently
in their homes.
