A bill for an act
relating to human services; appropriating money for grants to nonprofit providers
of community-based mental health services.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin APPROPRIATION; COMMUNITY-BASED MENTAL HEALTH
SERVICES.

new text begin (a) $300,000 is appropriated in fiscal year 2016 from the general fund to the
commissioner of human services to provide grants to three nonprofit providers of
community-based mental health services. Of this appropriation:

new text begin (1) the commissioner shall provide a $100,000 grant to Southside Family Nurturing
Center to provide services to families whose children are at risk of abuse;

new text begin (2) the commissioner shall provide a $100,000 grant to Teens Alone to provide
mental health services to teens and young adults who are homeless or without adult care
or family resources; and
new text end

new text begin (3) the commissioner shall provide a $100,000 grant to the Walk-In Counseling
Center to provide free counseling services to adults and youth.

new text begin (b) This is a onetime appropriation.
