A bill for an act
relating to employment; providing for performance-based grants; appropriating
money.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin TWIN CITIES RISE! PAY FOR PERFORMANCE GRANTS;
APPROPRIATION.

new text begin $450,000 in fiscal year 2014 and $450,000 in fiscal year 2015 are appropriated from
the general fund to the commissioner of employment and economic development for
performance grants under Minnesota Statutes, section 116J.8747, to Twin Cities RISE! to
provide training to hard-to-train individuals. Grants shall be made to Twin Cities RISE!
on a reimbursement basis only after the commissioner has documented that the program
participant for whom reimbursement is being sought has been successfully placed in a
livable wage job for at least 12 months. This is a onetime appropriation.
