A bill for an act
relating to higher education; requiring the Board of Trustees of Minnesota State
Colleges and Universities to implement a policy on awarding college credit for
tech-prep programs; requiring a report.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

new text begin By December 15, 2012, the Board of Trustees of the Minnesota State Colleges
and Universities (MnSCU) must adopt and implement a policy to award college credit
to students enrolled in the Anoka STEP program in conjunction with Anoka-Hennepin
Technical College. The board must evaluate how college credits are awarded to students
enrolled in similar tech-prep or 2+2 programs offered at MnSCU colleges and report
on the credit award policy and the findings of the evaluation to the committees of the
legislature with jurisdiction over higher education finance by December 15, 2012.
