A bill for an act
relating to civil law; providing a general exemption for certain property owned
by a debtor; amending Minnesota Statutes 2008, section 550.37, by adding a
subdivision.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
Section 1.
Minnesota Statutes 2008, section 550.37, is amended by adding a
subdivision to read:
Subd. 26.
General exemption.
The debtor's equity interest, not to exceed $10,000,
in any other property owned by the debtor that is not included in another subdivision
of this section.
EFFECTIVE DATE.
This section is effective July 1, 2009.
