A bill for an act
relating to natural resources; appropriating money for ecological services to
support implementation of the Clean Water Legacy Act.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

new text begin $3,000,000 in fiscal year 2008 and $3,000,000 in fiscal year 2009 are appropriated
from the general fund to the commissioner of natural resources for collecting and
delivering ecological information on Minnesota's waters to state agencies, local units of
government, and individual citizens to support implementation of the Clean Water Legacy
Act, Minnesota Statutes, chapter 114D. The money is appropriated in each year as follows:
(1) $250,000 for expanded biological assessment of Minnesota's waters; (2) $1,250,000
for collecting natural resource data and delivering the data to local units of government to
support the development of TMDL plans; and (3) $1,500,000 for expanding the protection
and restoration of Minnesota's waters.
