  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to health; requiring approval of an exception 
  1.3             to the moratorium on certification of nursing home 
  1.4             beds; appropriating money. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  [MORATORIUM EXCEPTION APPROVAL.] 
  1.7      The commissioner of health shall approve the relocation of 
  1.8   23 nursing home beds to an attached hospital in Wadena County 
  1.9   that qualifies as a moratorium exception under Minnesota 
  1.10  Statutes, section 144A.071, subdivision 4a. 
  1.11     Sec. 2.  [APPROPRIATION.] 
  1.12     $278,000 is appropriated from the general fund to the 
  1.13  commissioner of human services for the additional medical 
  1.14  assistance costs associated with the relocation under section 
  1.15  1.  This amount, adjusted for inflation, becomes part of the 
  1.16  base-level funding for the 2006-2007 biennial budget of the 
  1.17  Department of Human Services.
