  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to human services; clarifying mental health 
  1.3             case management provision for counties; amending 
  1.4             Minnesota Statutes 2003 Supplement, section 256B.0596. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 2003 Supplement, section 
  1.7   256B.0596, is amended to read: 
  1.8      256B.0596 [MENTAL HEALTH CASE MANAGEMENT.] 
  1.9      Counties shall contract with eligible providers willing to 
  1.10  provide mental health case management services under section 
  1.11  256B.0625, subdivision 20.  In order to be eligible, in addition 
  1.12  to general provider requirements under this chapter, the 
  1.13  provider must: 
  1.14     (1) be willing to provide the mental health case management 
  1.15  services; and 
  1.16     (2) have a minimum of at least one contact with the client 
  1.17  per week.  This section is not intended to limit the ability of 
  1.18  a county to provide its own mental health case management 
  1.19  services.
