  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to education; requiring legislative 
  1.3             affirmation of implementation of No Child Left Behind. 
  1.4   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.5      Section 1.  [AFFIRMATION OF NO CHILD LEFT BEHIND REQUIRED.] 
  1.6      The consolidated state plan submitted by the state of 
  1.7   Minnesota to the federal Department of Education on implementing 
  1.8   the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001, and any other Minnesota 
  1.9   state contract or agreement under the provisions of the No Child 
  1.10  Left Behind Act of 2001, shall be nullified and revoked by the 
  1.11  commissioner of the Minnesota Department of Education on June 1, 
  1.12  2004, unless legislation specifically affirming the 
  1.13  implementation of the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001 is 
  1.14  enacted before that date. 
  1.15     [EFFECTIVE DATE.] This section is effective the day 
  1.16  following final enactment.
