  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to highways; designating a route as the King 
  1.3             of Trails; amending Minnesota Statutes 2000, section 
  1.4             161.14, by adding a subdivision. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 2000, section 161.14, is 
  1.7   amended by adding a subdivision to read: 
  1.8      Subd. 48.  [KING OF TRAILS.] (a) The following described 
  1.9   route, signed as trunk highway No. 75 on the effective date of 
  1.10  this subdivision, is designated the "King of Trails":  
  1.11  Constitutional Route No. 6 from its intersection with the 
  1.12  Minnesota-Canada border southerly to its intersection with 
  1.13  Legislative Route No. 175 at or near the city of Crookston, then 
  1.14  Legislative Route No. 175 southwesterly and southerly to its 
  1.15  intersection with Constitutional Route No. 6 between the cities 
  1.16  of Halstad and Hendrum, then Constitutional Route No. 6 
  1.17  southerly to its intersection with the Minnesota-Iowa border.  
  1.18     (b) The commissioner shall adopt a suitable marking design 
  1.19  to mark the highway and erect appropriate signs, subject to 
  1.20  section 161.139.
