  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to local government; increasing the amount 
  1.3             for which a township may contract for health, social, 
  1.4             and recreational services; amending Minnesota Statutes 
  1.5             2000, section 365.10, subdivision 14. 
  1.6   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.7      Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 2000, section 365.10, 
  1.8   subdivision 14, is amended to read: 
  1.9      Subd. 14.  [HEALTH, SOCIAL, RECREATIONAL SERVICES.] The 
  1.10  electors may let the town board contract with nonprofit 
  1.11  organizations for not more than $5,000 $10,000 per year of 
  1.12  health, social, and recreational services.  To do so, the town 
  1.13  board must consider the services to be in the public interest 
  1.14  and good for the town.
