  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to game and fish; permitting angling with a 
  1.3             lighted fishing lure; amending Minnesota Statutes 
  1.4             1998, section 97C.335. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 1998, section 97C.335, is 
  1.7   amended to read: 
  1.8      97C.335 [USE OF ARTIFICIAL LIGHTS TO TAKE FISH PROHIBITED.] 
  1.9      A person may not use artificial lights to lure or attract 
  1.10  fish, or to see fish in the water while spearing, except that an 
  1.11  angler may use a lighted fishing lure.  Any battery that is used 
  1.12  in lighted fishing lures cannot contain any intentionally 
  1.13  introduced mercury.
