  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to human services; clarifying admissions 
  1.3             criteria for the Ah-Gwah-Ching center; requiring the 
  1.4             center to provide information on and promote the use 
  1.5             of the geriatric rapid assessment stabilization 
  1.6             program; proposing coding for new law in Minnesota 
  1.7             Statutes, chapter 251. 
  1.8   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.9      Section 1.  [251.013] [AH-GWAH-CHING CENTER.] 
  1.10     Subdivision 1.  [INTENT.] It is the intent of the 
  1.11  legislature that the Ah-Gwah-Ching center continue operation in 
  1.12  Walker, Minnesota, as a provider of nursing care to geriatric 
  1.13  and other residents whose aggressive or difficult to manage 
  1.14  behavioral needs cannot be met in their home community. 
  1.15     Subd. 2.  [ADMISSIONS CRITERIA.] An individual who has a 
  1.16  documented history of behavioral patterns that pose a 
  1.17  substantial risk of harm to the individual, other vulnerable 
  1.18  adults, staff, or visitors is eligible for placement at the 
  1.19  Ah-Gwah-Ching center if the individual meets all other 
  1.20  admissions criteria. 
  1.21     Subd. 3.  [GERIATRIC RAPID ASSESSMENT STABILIZATION 
  1.22  PROGRAM.] The Ah-Gwah-Ching center shall provide information on 
  1.23  the geriatric rapid assessment stabilization program (GRASP) or 
  1.24  emergency admittance programs to nursing facilities throughout 
  1.25  the state and shall promote and encourage the use of these 
  1.26  programs by these facilities.
