A bill for an act
 relating to veterans; amending the available remedies for violating the prohibition
on assigning military pay or benefits; amending Minnesota Statutes 2022, section
325F.992, subdivision 3.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

Minnesota Statutes 2022, section 325F.992, subdivision 3, is amended to read:


Subd. 3.

Penalties; remedies.

In addition to any other remedies available under the law,
the military beneficiary injured by a violation of this section may bring a cause of action to
recover damages, reasonable attorney fees and costs, deleted text begin ordeleted text end new text begin andnew text end equitable relief related to a
violation of subdivision 2. The attorney general may enforce this section pursuant to
applicable law.
