relating to agriculture; appropriating money for a grant to the Greater Minneapolis
Council of Churches for Minnesota Venture Farms.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

new text begin $250,000 in fiscal year 2023 is appropriated from the general fund to the commissioner
of agriculture for a grant to the Greater Minneapolis Council of Churches for the Minnesota
Venture Farms initiative to create an equitable, independent, and scalable food-access
ecosystem that invests in local farms, provides new agribusinesses opportunities, creates
new distribution channels, diversifies farming practices while increasing production, and
nurtures the talent of emerging farmers from Black, Indigenous, and people of color
communities. This is a onetime appropriation and is available until June 30, 2024.
