A bill for an act
relating to human services; directing the commissioner of human services to appoint
a grant assistance coordinator.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin DIRECTION TO COMMISSIONER OF HUMAN SERVICES; GRANT
ASSISTANCE COORDINATOR.

new text begin The commissioner of human services shall appoint a grant assistance coordinator to
serve within the Behavioral Health Division of the Department of Human Services. The
grant assistance coordinator shall provide guidance and technical assistance to not-for-profit
behavioral health provider organizations with fewer than 15 employees on navigating the
grant application process, developing responses to requests for proposals issued by the
commissioner, and complying with grantee reporting requirements. The grant assistance
coordinator shall not provide input or participate in the department decision-making process
for grant awards or disbursement of grant funds.
