A bill for an act
relating to health; appropriating money for grants to nonprofit organizations to
assist communities and individuals in healthy living initiatives; requiring a report.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

new text begin $....... in fiscal year 2020 and $....... in fiscal year 2021
are appropriated from the general fund to the commissioner of health for grants to diverse
and competent nonprofit organizations to equitably educate, guide, and assist people and
communities, especially diverse, multicultural, senior, disabled, disadvantaged,
self-employed, low-income, victim, and military service populations and rural farming
communities, in healthy living initiatives. The healthy living initiatives must use best
practices and successful methods for sustaining, improving, and responding to individuals'
health, medical, and living conditions while in their homes and communities.

new text begin The commissioner of health shall establish and appoint a design and
grants oversight advisory group and issue a report to the legislative committees with
jurisdiction over health-related matters by February 15, 2023.
