A bill for an act
relating to transportation; appropriating money for improvements and reconstruction
of 2nd Avenue, 3rd Avenue, and 17th Street in the city of Newport.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin APPROPRIATION.

new text begin $5,059,000 in fiscal year 2023 is appropriated from the general fund to the commissioner
of transportation for one or more grants to the city of Newport for improvements and
reconstruction of 3rd Avenue between 16th and 21st Streets, 2nd Avenue between 16th and
17th Streets, and 17th Street west of 3rd Avenue in Newport. This project includes
replacement of hydrants, replacement of water mains, replacement of sanitary sewer mains
and lateral service lines, and construction of stormwater collection and treatment systems.
This is a onetime appropriation.
