A bill for an act
relating to workforce development; appropriating money for Latino Communities
United in Service.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin APPROPRIATION.

new text begin $....... in fiscal year 2021 is appropriated from the workforce development fund to the
commissioner of employment and economic development for a grant to Latino Communities
United in Service (CLUES) to expand programs that address employment skill gaps. Grants
must fund job skills and certification training to increase wages for low-income people in
high-demand fields, including information technology and class A commercial driving. At
least 50 percent of this amount must be used for programming targeted at greater Minnesota.
This is a onetime appropriation.
