A bill for an act
relating to transportation; appropriating money for safety improvements on marked
U.S. Highway 169 between Taconite and Pengilly.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin APPROPRIATION.

new text begin $150,000,000 in fiscal year 2023 is appropriated from the general fund to the
commissioner of transportation for safety improvements on marked U.S. Highway 169
between Taconite and Pengilly, including three turn lanes, one bypass lane, access closures,
access geometry improvements, and Americans with Disabilities Act improvements in
Calumet. This is a onetime appropriation and is available until June 30, 2025.
