A bill for an act
relating to higher education; requiring disclosure of tuition and fees and other
information related to higher education majors and programs; proposing coding
for new law in Minnesota Statutes, chapter 135A.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

new text begin [135A.133] DISCLOSURE OF COSTS, COMPLETION RATES, AND
SUCCESS IN PLACEMENT.

new text begin (a) Public universities and private colleges and universities must:
new text end

new text begin (1) disclose and identify tuition and fees related to undergraduate majors or programs;
new text end

new text begin (2) provide an estimated timeline for completion of undergraduate majors or programs,
assuming the student attends full time; and
new text end

new text begin (3) provide as much information and data as possible on the success in placement for
certain undergraduate majors or programs and the estimated income, and success in placement
generally by the college or university.

new text begin (b) The information under paragraph (a) must be posted to the university or college
website and included in promotional materials to prospective students.
